Kathryn Krick Debut's on USA TODAY Bestseller List
Full disclaimer - we have worked with Kathryn for the last 3 or 4 years on her books and specifically the launches. This time around there was a full team on board. A planning and strategy took place with a 9 city book tour. A bit old school! My favorite. The team decided to hit markets where Kathryn and Revival Now had a good small group following in place. Very solid markets with book store signings at Barnes and Nobles with each stop. This was Kathryn's first time doing a book tour and she had a total blast. NYC signing on 5th Avenue store was a huge win for the entire team.
We were hired to strategically work with retailers on making sure sales were reported as needed. Additionally we worked with our retailer partners for pushing sales through to Book-Scan with key partners of the ministry.
After 6 months of planning Revival Now by Kathryn Krick debuted at #27 for the first week of release selling through 3640 sales by retailers. An amazing job done by everyone. Media hits were accomplished with Good Day LA - using the National Day of Prayer as a hook for Kathryn's local church in the LA area. Other appearances booked by the team in place.
Here is what we know about Bestseller Strategies:
it takes a good 5 to 6 months of planning and keying in on ways to sell through advanced copies into the retail system
social media content is paramount as is involving readers along the trail. We acquired over 50 reviews during launch week as well through her followers
bookstore signings are not dead. We've been saying this for several years - especially with Barnes and Noble buying up new stores in key markets. Those store managers are very open to relationships with book marketing folks.
managing inventory issues and print runs was also key to making this a success.
